Con tantas pantallas y tecnología, los niños pueden pasar horas frente a ellas sin hablar e interactuar. En nuestros tiempos ya es difícil que en navidad se regalen materiales para agudizar la creatividad, o en los cumpleaños ya es cada ves más común ver a los niños pendientes del celular. Pero esto puede ser beneficioso en algunos aspectos, como ayudar en el aprendizaje y en la obtención de información. Pero también puede ser muy perjudicial, los niños y niñas son curiosos desde el momento de nacer y quieren interactuar con el mundo del que son parte.
Es en esta etapa, de desarrollo y crecimiento, donde los expertos dicen que los educadores y familiares deben estimular la observación, la capacidad de explorar y desarrollar un sentido creativo que les será útil para el resto de sus vidas. Mientras los niños y niñas interactuen con el medio, aprenderán que el mundo puede ser diverso, que hay colores, formas y texturas diferentes y abrirán un campo de conocimiento nuevo.
No es un pecado que los niños comiencen a colorear y rayar paredes, papeles y superficies. Que dibujen y pinten libremente es lo ideal, en blocks o croqueras pero un espacio vacío, dejando de lado las plantillas o libros «para colorear», ya que es una forma de limitar y sólo seguir un patrón. Tampoco es bueno decirles a los niños «pinta el color que tienen los árboles», si no que ellos imaginen y expresen el color que sientan que es. En definitiva, es que representen sus propio mundo y contexto que lo rodea.
El arte aumenta las capacidades intelectuales y la comunicación entre padres e hijos. Utilizando plastilina, pintura, dibujo y hasta bailes, los mayores pueden aprender a conocer más de los niños, ya que se genera un mayor círculo afectivo. Además, ellos mismos aprenden a conocerse tanto exterior como internamente.
Es importante exponerlos al arte, incentivarlos y celebrar sus «obras», también es bueno generar los espacios de visitas a museos, galerías y festivales, pero respetando su libertad de elegir. Darles tiempo para sentir y aplaudir su imaginación frente al arte, y lo más importante, darles confianza para crear.

On birthdays, children commonly spend their day in front of their cellphones. Even though this, sometimes, can be beneficial – it improves learning and offers information –, it is detrimental too. Children are curious since they were born; they want to interact with their surroundings and their world.
On this stage of growth and development, experts say that educators and family must encourage the observation, the ability to explore, and the development of a creative sense – all these will be useful for the rest of their lives. While children interact with their surroundings, they will learn that the world can be diverse. They will discover that there are colors, shapes, and different textures that will open a field of new knowledge.
It is not a sin that children start to paint or draw on walls, papers, and surfaces. However, sketch pads are the ideal solution, not coloring books since these delimit imagination by following patterns. It is not a good idea to tell children which color to paint a tree, they have to imagine and express the color they feel because, by means of these, they represent their own world and its context.
Art enhances mental abilities and parent-child communiacation. By using plasticine, paints, draws, and even dances, older ones can learn to know more their children because it develops a bigger affectional bond. Besides they learn their inner and external side.
It is important to exhibit them to arts. We must encourage them and celebrate their works. It is important to visit museums, galleries, and festivals, but always respecting their choices. You have to give them time to feel and approve their imagination concerning art. Most importantly, you have to encourage them to create.{:}
