Si bien el taller de Francisca se encuentra en el corazón urbano de Chile, en medio del área metropolitana de Santiago, su trabajo nos transporta a un espacio y sensaciones ligadas a la tierra, la naturaleza y sus ciclos.
La trayectoria de Francisca es extensa y variada, tanto en formatos como en soporte desde los cuales ha desarrollado las artes visuales, pasando desde la pintura a la escultura e innovando el último tiempo con técnicas mixtas en donde se mezcla el collage y otras formas híbridas entre la pintura y la escultura.
Si bien podemos reconocer influencias del arte Europeo, en especial de los impresionistas –como Monet entre otros–, vemos un estilo personal que surge desde la observación, donde Francisca se interioriza con las diversas experiencias visuales que la rodearon desde niña, las cuales van desde una infancia cercana a su padre arquitecto, artesanos ligados a la greda y cerámicas en la zona del Maule, entre otras imágenes que la rodean en el valle de Curicó.
Estas influencias, retornan recurrentemente a la zona vitivinícola del valle de Curicó donde, en cierto grado, se determina su obra. “Viví en Curicó alrededor del campo. Ahí tú vas a ver reflejada la pintura. Al principio empecé con mucho paisaje, mucho animal, fruta, bodegones, y así de a poco me quede con las parras”, señala la artista.
El trabajo con las parras, tanto en pintura como en escultura, es una representación desde las vides y los sarmientos de la zona central en su conjunto, ya que se representa el dinamismo del campo, las variaciones cromáticas que acompañan las distintas etapas y estaciones del año. “La parra es una planta única que se ve tranquila pero que puede poseer magia, creación y tanta energía. Incluso están todos los colores de la paleta en las distintas épocas del año”, explica Francisca.
Los procesos creativos Francisca los detalla como vivencias y búsqueda, por lo que viaja constantemente a Curicó a desarrollar un trabajo de observación y contacto con la naturaleza, en específicos con los viñedos que han sido el tema central de su trabajo este último tiempo. “Necesito de la naturaleza para desarrollar mi trabajo, de la simpleza. Me encanta vivir en Santiago no lo puedo negar, porque acá esta toda la parte más desarrollada culturalmente hablando, pero necesito de la tierra, oler el campo, las viñas”, profundiza.
En el trabajo de Francisca se presenta un ejercicio que busca hacer consiente el dinamismo del campo de la zona central, el cual se expresa en una variación de colores y cambios que Francisca recoge y representa, con un estilo personal que surge desde las influencias del arte europeo y de grandes artistas nacionales, pero también desde la observación y vivencias de su vida en el valle de Curicó.
La presentación de las obras de Francisca Lohmannn en Santiago lleva un poco del dinamismo de la naturaleza y del campo al centro urbano de Chile, recordándonos la necesidad de retornar a nuestro contacto con los ciclos y colores de la naturaleza.
Este año, la artista ha tenido múltiples exposiciones en nuestro país, además participó de la Feria Art New York en Abril, Mira 2016 en Argentina y actualmente está exponiendo en el Centro Cultural Estación Mapocho en TransformArte, donde hizo una obra con reciclaje de desechos de computadores. Más adelante participará en Casa Colorada, en una exposición colectiva sobre los siete pecados capitales, ocasión en la que expondrá un díptico hecho en técnica mixta sobre lino, trabajando el tema de la Avaricia. Pero eso no es todo, Francisca además inaugura en Septiembre en el Espacio Teléfonica TransformArte II, en Octubre participará de la Bienal de Buenos Aires,y estará presente en Miami durante el mes de Noviembre, con una galería de nuestro vecino país, Argentina.
Although Francisca’s workshop is located in the urban center of Chile, in the middle of the metropolitan area of Santiago, her work transport us to a space and sensations closely bounded to the earth, nature, and their cycles.
Francisca’s career is vast and varied, in formats as well as in supports from which she has developed the visual arts, going from painting to sculpture and recently innovating with mixed techniques where she combines the collage with other hybrid forms between painting and sculpture.
Even though we can recognize the influences from the European art, specially from the impressionists as Monet and others, we can see a personal style that emerges from the observation where Francisca internalizes with the different visual experiences that surrounded her when she was a child, which goes from the close infancy to her father that is an architect, clay and ceramic craftsmen of the Maule region, among other images that surround her in the Curico valley.
These influences are permanently returning to the winemaking zone of the Curico valley where, in a certain degree, determines the work. “ I lived in Curico surrounded by the countryside. There you can see my paintings reflected. In the beginning I started adding a lot of landscape, a lot of animals, fruits, still life, and little by little I got stuck with the vines” comments the artist.
The work with the vines, in paintings as well as in sculpture, is a representation from the grapevines and the vine shoots of the Central Chile in its mixture because is represented the energy of the countryside, the chromatic variations that accompanies the different stages a seasons of the year. “ The vine is a unique plant that may seem calm but can posses magic, creation, and so much energy. There are even all the colors of the planet in all the different seasons of the year”, Francisca explains.
Francisca explains her creative processes as life experiences and quests, so she is constantly traveling to Curico to develop an observation work and to get in touch with nature, specifically with the vineyards that have been the main subject of her work recently. “ I am in constant need of the nature to create my work, from the simplicity. I can not deny that I love to live in Santiago, because here you can find all the developed zones, culturally speaking. But I need the land, I need that smell of the countryside, the vineyards”, she explains.
In Francisca’s work is presented an exercise that seeks to raise awareness about the dynamism of the countryside of the Central zone, which is expressed in a variation of colors and changes that Francisca gathers and represents with a personal style that emerges from the influences of the European art and from the great national artists, but also from the observation and life experiences of her life in the Curico valley.
The exhibition of Francisca Lohmann’s works in Santiago brings a little of the dynamism of the nature and the countryside to the urban center of Chile, reminding us the need to return to our contact with the cycles and color of nature.
This year, the artist has had many exhibitions in our country, she also participated in the fair Art New York in April, Mira 2016 in Argentina and these days she exhibiting in the Cultural Center Mapocho Station in TransformArte, where she created a piece with recycled waste form computers. Later on she will participate in Casa Colorada in an collective exhibition related to the seven capital sins, occasion where she will exhibit a diptych made of mixed technique over lino, in relation to the topic of Greed. But that is not all, Francisca is also opening TransformArte II in September in the Espacio Teléfonica , in October she will participate in the Biennial of Buenos Aires and will travel to Miami during November, with an Argentinian gallery.
