Yoko Ono
El jueves 23 de junio comenzó la muestra introspectiva de la obra de Yoko Ono, “Dream come true” en el Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA). La japonesa, nacida en 1933, es conocida por su arte conceptual que aborda diversos formatos, como las artes plásticas y la música.
El arte de Yoko Ono se caracteriza por intentar romper los límites entre las disciplinas artísticas. También le es propia la interactividad con la que se relaciona con el público.
En total “Dream come true” posee más de 80 piezas: objetos, films, instalaciones y registros sonoros; trabajos elaborados desde 1960 hasta hoy dan forma a esta exposición. La línea que cohesiona la muestra se basa en las Instrucciones de Ono, que invitan a los participantes a llevar a cabo diversas acciones introspectivas y con su entorno. “Enciende un fósforo y observa hasta que se consuma” o “»Pásate una semana riendo» son algunas de ellas.

La disposición de las obras se dividirá en dos zonas, dentro del MALBA y fuera del museo (espacios abiertos, redes sociales y medios de comunicación). También habrá un espacio para el “Evento agua”, en el que un grupo de artistas convocados por Ono creó diversos objetos que se relacionan con este elemento. La exposición permanecerá abierta hasta el 31 de octubre.

On Thursday, June 23rd started the introspective exhibition of Yoko Ono’s work Dream come true in the Latin American Museum of Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA). The Japanese, born in 1933, is known for her conceptual art that addresses several formats, like plastic arts and music.
Yoko Ono’s art is characterized for the constant attempt to break the boundaries between the artistic disciplines, and also the interaction with the one she correlates with the audience.
In total, the work Dream come true possesses more than 80 pieces: objects, films, installations, and resounding records. Works elaborated from 1960 to the current date shape this exhibition. The line in which this exhibition comes together is based on Ono’s instructions, which invites the participants to perform different introspective actions with their surroundings. “Turn on a match and watch until it consumes itself” or “Spend a whole week laughing” are some of them.

The disposition of the pieces will be divided into two areas, in the interior and exterior of the MALBA (open spaces, social networks, and communication media). There will also be an area for the “Water event”, in which a group of artists convened by Ono created various objects that connects with this element.
