«La coiffeuse», de Pablo Picasso, anduvo perdida. Fue sustraída y vendida por sólo 30 euros en Nueva York, pretendiendo permanecer en el anonimato para siempre. De segunda mano, producto de un robo, contuvo la atención de los pasos que dio fuera de su hogar por la mirada aguda de las autoridades, el mundo del arte y las masas.
Consiguió estar prófugo del Pompidou por más de 13 años, pero no consiguió fugarse para siempre. Fue hallado hace dos años atrás en la ciudad de los negocios americanos y al fin, volverá a colgar de los muros y vitrinas del Pompidou de donde nunca debió irse.
Su retorno está fijado para el 24 de este mes. Fue restituido en septiembre del año pasado y, desde entonces, ha estado en un delicado y prolijo proceso de restauración que ha tomado 5 meses. El deterioro fue notorio, sin embargo, la pieza ha sido salvada y cuidada nuevamente para volver a exhibirse. El Centro Pompidou ha dicho a través de un comunicado que «por el robo y las malas condiciones de conservación el tiempo de reparación se ha extendido»
Es un óleo sobre lienzo de 33 por 46 centímetros pintado en 1911 y de tendencia cubista. Fue recuperado cuando personal del museo confirmó que la pieza coincidía con la original en 2001, pero que había sufrido algunos deterioros.
Fue vendida por el ladrón a su comprador en sólo 30 euros. ¿Cuál es el valor efectivo de la obra? Al momento del robo. Su valor estaba valorado en 2,5 millones de dólares, equivalentes a unos 2,25 millones de euros al cambio actuales.

It was outside of the Centre Pompidou for more than 13 years but it do not be outside forever. It was found two years ago in United States and now it returns to the walls and to the glass cabinet of the Centre Pompidou, the place where always had to stay.
Its return is set at 24 of this month. It was restored on september of last year but it needed 5 months of restoration. The damage was evident but the painting has been saved and cared again to be exhibit again. The centre Pompidou in a statement said that “ because the steal and the bad conditions of conservation, the repair’s time has been extended”
It is a cubist oil painting and it is 33 x 46 centimeter. It was painted in 1911 and it was recovered when museum’s personal confirmed that the painting was the original that had been stoled in 2001 but that painting had suffered some damages.
It was sold by the thief to his buyer in just € 30 ¿What is the real prize of the painting? In the moment of the steal, it was valued around US$2.5 million which now is around € 2.25 million in the actual exchange.
