{:es}Sonrisas y emoción fue la reacción de los chilenos creadores del premiado cortometraje de animación, Historia de un Oso. El Oscar fue para esta producción dirigida por Gabriel Osorio, quien trabajó durante cuatro años con su equipo para contar una historia inspirada en el exilio y la familia. 15 personas estuvieron detrás del espectacular trabajo que le ganó a productoras como Dinsey/Pixar, con un reducido presupuesto de 40.000 dólares, y que llevó a todo el teatro Kodak a aplaudirlos en la ceremonia número 88 de los Premios de la Academia.
Una historia que cuenta la vida de un oso, grande, anciano y que por terribles razones se encuentra triste y solitario. Él construye un diorama, una cajita mágica que mientras se «le da cuerda», abre un mundo que el oso construyó con sus propias manos hasta el amanecer. Es un recuerdo de su pasada vida feliz, donde aún seguía reunido con su esposa osa e hijo, antes de que un circo lo esclavizara y se lo llevara de su hogar, a trabajar bajo latigazos y por la fuerza.
Pero en lo que Osorio se inspiró no fue tan literal. Como cada creación hay un trasfondo y esta historia fue inspirada en la propia vida de su abuelo, quién tras el exilio en plena dictadura militar chilena, fue separado de su familia y conoció a su nieto cuando él recién tenía ocho años. Lo que también generó más lecturas, en espectadores de otros países también pueden ver en esta metáfora a su propio pasado o humanidad o hay quienes identifican el maltrato animal.
El trabajo artístico detrás también fue un gran factor por la que el corto de la casa productora Punkrobot llegó a la cima. A simple vista podría parecer un relato en 3D, pero por el contrario hay muchas escenas donde la acuarela y el dibujo fueron técnicas para lograr un resultado impecable.
«Nuestra idea era rescatar lo hecho a mano, las técnicas tradicionales, y llevarlas a un mundo 3D. Es bien mentiroso, parece todo hecho en 3D pero hay mucho trabajo manual detrás. Creo que eso nos resultó en términos estéticos porque se ve bien distinto a otras películas», opinó el director a una entrevista con BBC.
El cortometraje fue producido por Patricio Escala, el guión es de Daniel Castro, la dirección de arte fue por Antonia Herrera, la música fue creada por la banda chilena Dënver, el sonido estuvo a cargo de Cristián Cosgrove y la animación de Nicolás Canales.
Historia de un Oso puede verse en los cines nacionales junto a la película de Disney Zootopía, que se estima la verá más de un millón de personas. ¡No te la puedes perder!

{:}{:en}Smiles and emotion was the reaction of the Chilean’s creators of the rewarded animated short film, Bear Story. The production was directed by Gabriel Osorio, who worked during four years with his team to tell a story that was inspired in the exile and family. Around15 people worked in this spectacular animated short film which deposed producers such as Disney/ Pixar. The short film had a low budget of US 40,000 however all the Dolby Theatre approved it in the 88th Academy Awards ceremony.
It is a story that tells the life of a big and old bear,and for awful reasons it is sad and alone. The bear builds a diorama. While the magic box is being winded, a world the bear built with its own hands emerges. It is a remembering of its past happy life, when the bear was with its bear wife and its bear son before a circus enslaved it and took it out of its house to work receiving whips and by force.
But the inspiration of Osorio was not completely literal. Such as each creation there is a background and the story is inspired by the exile of Osorio’s grandfather during the military government in Chile. He was separated of his family and he met his grandson when the kid was 8 years old. With the short film, spectators of other countries can understand the metaphor of their own past or humanity and others identifies the animal mistreatment.
The artistic work was an important factor and thanks of them, the short film of the producer Punkrobot company achieved the success. At first side it could seem as a short story in 3D but on the opposite side there is many scenes where watercolor and drawing were the techniques to achieve a perfect result.
“Our idea was to save the drawings and the traditional techniques , and take them to a 3D world. All seem that was created in 3D but there is a lot of manual labor. I think that in esthetic terms we did it, because it seem so different to other movies”, said the director in a interview with BBC.
The short film was produced by Patricio Escala, it was written by Daniel Castro, the art direction by Antonia Herrera, the music was created by the Chilean band Dënver, the sound was in charge of Cristian Cosgrove and the animation by Nicolas Canales.
