Thierry Geoffroy’s tents serve a mobile medium that, when unfolded, can have an immediate local impact, as well as reaching an international stage through photographic or audiovisual recordings. In addition to the tents, which already reference the migratory crisis, the hardships of homeless people and social mobility, he spray-paints straight-forward, sarcastic and eye-catching phrases to draw attention to these issues.
Thus, he uses the tents to delve deeper into the migration crisis, but also as a way of bringing awareness to the effects of isolation and other challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic.
