Water as a driving force for life is the world is addressed through ice by artist Daniel Reyes León. The piece belongs to a series covering different concepts such as “Life”, “Ethics”, and “Silent”, which are placed on public streets and exposed to temperatures that lead them to melt in time, while recorded through photographs and audiovisual means.
The transformation from ice to water to vapor urges us to reflect on the water crisis and climate change, calling for environmental preservation and constant concern over water, a resource that is private in Chile and mainly used by corporations, regardless of the needs of many communities.
