“Cybersyn”, la visión del internet que tenía Allende, destaca en la Bienal de Diseño de Londres

Una comunicación en tiempo real entre trabajadores de empresas estatales y autoridades de gobierno; la meta, lograr mayor claridad a la hora de hacer negocios. En eso consistía Cybersyn, proyecto ideado por el gobierno de Salvador Allende en 1971.

Aunque este proyecto fue visionario en el campo —al adelantarse al internet HTML lanzado en 1990—, su desarrollo se detuvo luego de que en 1973 Pinochet llegara al poder. Hasta el 27 de septiembre se podrá apreciar una réplica de Cybersyn en la Bienal de Diseño de Londres. El evento tiene como uno de sus principales objetivos reflexionar en cómo la disciplina puede ayudar a mejorar el estado del mundo. En total, más de 30 países presentan diversas obras al respecto.

“The Contraculture Room”, ese el nombre con el que el pabellón chileno mostrará la versión del internet que se tenía en nuestro país hace más de 40 años. Con una estética que parece sacada de una película de ciencia ficción, los organizadores del evento clasifican a esa exposición como una de las imperdibles del encuentro.

A real-time communication program between employees of state companies and governmental authorities; an efficient management of the information which its main goal was to provide a better decision-making at the moment of making businesses. This is in what the Cybersyn consisted, a project conceived by Salvador Allende’s administration in 1971.

Even though this Project was visionary in the field, by going ahead of the Internet’s launching on 1990, its development stopped after in 1973 Pinochet took power. Up until September 27th, people will be able to attend to the exhibition of the replica of the Cybersyn on the London Design Biennale. The event has as one of its main goals, to create a reflection in relation to how the discipline can help to improve the world. Overall, over 30 countries are presenting different works in relation to the subject.

“The Contraculture Room”, is the name with which the Chilean pavilion will present the Internet’s version of our country over 40 years ago. With an aesthetic that seems to be taken away from a science fiction movie; the organizers of the event classify this exhibition as one of the gathering’s must-see.
