Wake Up!<\/em> based on environmental issues, was designed by Andrea Juan and Gabriel Penedo. Wake up! is a two-channel video installation featuring a water pump, timers, a bed, blankets, curtains, and a large volume of water.<\/p>\n

Wake Up!<\/em> calls upon viewers\u2014through poetics and imagery\u2014to awaken to an increasingly unsettling reality.<\/p>\n

Wake Up!<\/em> is installed in the most intimate of spaces\u2014our bedroom.<\/p>\n

It is an allegory reminding us that the consequences of this disaster \u2013that though still seemingly distant today\u2013 will inevitably reach us, profoundly altering and affecting our lives.<\/p>\n

The video footage was captured by Andrea Juan over the course of several expeditions to Antarctica.<\/p>\n

Has had solo exhibitions in England, the United States, Thailand, Russia, Spain, China, Canada, the Netherlands, Austria, Italy, and Japan, among others.<\/p>\n

Recipient of several awards, including the Guggenheim Fellowship in 2005, Konex Award in Argentina and Amazona de Oro de Benin, among others.<\/p>\n
