The Melancholic Forest is a short story depicting the relentless frenzy for precious metals, greed and the devastating force of mining practices that oppressed forests, several biomes, and their inhabitants.

“It is not about inciting controversy or further polarizing already controversial and contentious issues, but about exploring ways to foster less rigid and hierarchical relationships, and raise questions of a deeper nature and with enhanced understanding,” Petrella explains.
