The Chaman Head (“Shaman Head”) series began in the nineties after he returned from a trip across the Amazon, in the most remote areas of Bolivia. An avid collector of textiles, he brought the Andes and the Amazon together in his soft sculptures. He alludes to the power of Andean textiles and combines it with the wisdom of ancient Amazonian practices and his own knowledge on the matter. These soft textiles have been one of the many mediums he has used in his artwork focusing on land art and installations.
