Until the end of March the call of Tsonami Arte Sonoro will be open to participate in one of its artist residences during 2020 in Valparaíso.
● The deadline to apply to the recisences at B.A.S.E Tsonami is on March 29. The call is for artists who work possible crossings among art, sound, territory, and community, who present proposals of their work related to the actual context of Chile.
Tsonami Arte Sonoro has opened a new call to participate in the residency program at B.A.S.E. (Base de Artes Sonoras y Experimentales) its work space and exhibition in the city of Valparaiso. The residency program organized by Tsonami Arte Sonoro is an instance of research and artistic creation around the possible crossings between art, sound, territory and community.
This time the call makes a call to researchers, curators and artists from Chile (except for residents in Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Villa Alemana or Quilpué) and abroad to send their work proposals in tune with the current context of Chile and Valparaíso, after the social outburst of October 18. The objective for this new cycle of residencies is to investigate the phenomena of transformation and social crisis based on sound and listening.
During the year 2019 artists from Peru, Uruguay, Argentina and Chile like Nicolas Kisic Aguirre, Sofia Balbontín, KAUM Colectivo and ZAGO were part of the Residences achieving through their immersion in the territory, interesting crossings between the sound and the city exhibiting their result in the B.A.S.E. Hall.
For those interested in participating, the deadline to apply is Sunday, March 29, at 10:00 pm on the Chilean mainland, and the results of the selection will be announced and sent by e-mail on Friday, April 3.
Among the requirements to be considered, the artist must finish with a sample at Sala B.A.S.E, Tsonami sound art gallery. In addition to residing for one month in the city of Valparaiso.
