The “El Mundo al Instante” call | Isabel Croxatto Gallery

Chile is going through difficult times. The social demands and protests carried out since the social outbreak in October 18 makes us re-think both our country idea and our practices.

Day after day, through communication and social media, we can see these actions are not unique in Chile and are being carried out in different places in Latin America and the whole world.

“El Mundo al Instante”  (The World in an Instant in Spanish) in Isabel Croxatto Gallery proposes a new cycle of group shows that is extended to the gallery’s artists and guest artists, bringing together works that discuss how creators from different disciplines see and live this process of transformation. In this first version, we seek to take a “snapshot” of the current moment in Chile, bringing together previous works that are re-signified in the context of today’s country and works that are being born in the midst of the outburst.

Each artist is invited to present a work that contributes to an artistic dialogue around contingency. The invited artists can be independent or represented by another gallery.

The proposed works may include drawing, painting, photography, textiles, sculpture, installation, new media or performance, preferably in small or medium formats.

In addition, installation and curatorship may be intervened during the course of the exhibition so that it continues to be updated within the sense of urgency of the present.

The selection and curatorship will be carried out by Isabel Croxatto along with a team of collaborators.
