Ecosystem by Bernardo Oyarzún, indigenous landscapes from the south at Sala de Arte CCU
Until August 2, the exhibition of the prominent visual artist Bernardo Oyarzún will be free to visit in the CCU Room, who through a large-scale installation captures his vision of the natural, human and social aspects of his place of origin in the southern Chile and the disorders that this place has suffered over time.
Throughout his work, Oyarzún has explored topics related to popular contexts, issues about identity, roots and the indigenous world. “Ecosystem” is a reissue of the exhibition held in 2005 at the Gabriela Mistral Gallery. In both, he worked on the notion of landscape in an autobiographical and sociocultural way, showing the reality and the real-scale conflict of unpopulated localities and with serious problems in their configuration.
“Today the native landscape is dejected and redesigned by a grid of private property, abused by agro-industry, deforestation and pollution of land, rivers and seas, something that can be defined in two words: pollution and collapse” says Oyarzún.
Exhibition: From June 20 to August 2, 2019
Sala Foco Curatorial (Av. Vitacura 2670, floor -1), Las Condes.
