Dwelling the city | Call for artists

In the context of its new museum project, the Benjamín Vicuña Mackenna Museum opens the 2020 contest for temporary exhibitions that think about the relationship between art and city.

Until July 31, 2019, interested artists can present their own proposals to make temporary exhibitions at Benjamín Vicuña Mackenna Museum, for the season 2020.

This first version of the contest “Dwelling the city” opens in the context of the museum project that is making the Museum, which result will be seen during 2019, and includes the fitting out of a new room of temporary exhibitions physically liked with the permanent sample, in order to create interaction and contributions between both proposals.

Collective or individual proposals can be submitted, related to the Museum’s thematic line, which is based on the urban legacy of Benjamín Vicuña Mackenna and, therefore, with the history of the city of Santiago, its development, characteristics and future projections. The language, technique and dimension of the proposal is totally free, but must be adapted to the requirements specified in the contest rules.

The jury will be composed of two professionals from the Benjamín Vicuña Mackenna Museum, as well as three specialists from the national cultural and artistic field. The results of the contest will be published on Friday, August 30, 2019.
