The real and the imaginary meet in Alejandro Arrepol’s work. The Chilean artist explores the man and their environment. The human figure is the protagonists of the narrations the visual artist presents to us; he mixes anatomy with typical scenes of the everyday imaginary. Clothing is another of the main elements that cover up the characters in a timeless and ludic way, in a rebel and mysterious act at the same time.
Actors that live in the theater of the world who wish to act roles other than the imposed. Arrepol’s poetics reminds us the circus scenery, with its harlequins, trapeze artists and jugglers. They all look for equality which is precarious given its nature that threatens equilibrium.
