This Thursday 8th, September at 19:30 hrs on the CCU Art Room, will be launched the exhibition Weather has been nice from the Chilean journalist and artist Andrea Wolf. Resided in the United States, Wolf makes her work through the concepts of memory, time and image. With an approach to the multimedia format, she specializes in installations that play with the technology and the idea of the memory and the oblivion.
Landscapes in a constant movement are showed in a dynamic way to the observer. This last element is essential in the conception of the work, by becoming an active part of it. The pieces in the exhibition are based on different postcards acquired on fairs and are the fundamental material with which Andrea Wolf worked on the compositions. An aesthetic present on the touristic scene is complemented with notes referring to the activity of traveling.
The pieces will be accompanied to sound effects in charge of Print All Over Me. Ten artists were the ones in charge of preparing different sounding landscapes that consist on tapes from people reading the content of the postcards.
“Weather has been nice” will be open to the public on the CCU Art Room, in Vitacura 2680, from Thursday 8th of September to November 11th of November, from Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 18:30 pm. Free admission.
