La sorprendente versatilidad del papel en el arte

It is extremly thin, fragile and malleable. Its fine composition turns it into a challenging and dominant material. Paper here is not reffered to as a form of support or as a recipient of artistic material, but it is mentioned as the own composer of a work of art. Many have experimented with it, and even though it is not asociated to a clasic technique of a very extense data, what it is known is that the practical demand that it involves turns it into a very noble and complex material to approach a subject.

The common belief tends to associate it with the micro format because of the long work process of the material and because the cuts involve a special precision, the paste can not be done with an specailly firm material because it could degrade, and so a series of practical applications turns it into a material astonishingly flexible and at the same time complex and demanding.

Here, a visible proof of the feasibility of the macro format, of the sculpture, installation and utilization of the new means to show not only the great ideas, but the great works of art. These are some of the best exponents of the contemporary art that use paper as the leading material and the way their work have gone beyond the aesthetic and manual bounderies.
