Francia anuncia ayuda para patrimonio amenazado en Siria

During the assembly of UNESCO, the French president said that “right of asylum” is given to the works and heritage as is threatened by the ISIS.

François Hollande announced Tuesday, during his speech at the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Unesco, which France will grant what he called “asylum” for works of art and heritage museums that are threatened in Syria and Iraq.

This determination was made by the French State to prevent the works fall into the hands of the ISIS, which will be included in the draft law on freedom of creation found in Parliament.

In addition, it incorporates in their legislation on cultural assets Council resolutions of the UN Security prohibiting the transport, transit and trade in cultural heritage furniture that has left a country illegally.
