The auction season in New York continues, this time with the sale of renowned works of Warhol, Modigliani and Picasso.
This week was auctioned at Christie’s numerous works, totaling $ 823 million. Among the most desirable works they were Amedeo Modigliani’s Nu couché, at US $ 170.4 million; Pablo Picasso’s Las mujeres de Argel, at US $ 179.4 million; and Four Marilyns, the most recognized works of pop art Andy Warhol, at US $ 36 million.
Although it has been a good season for the auction of Christie’s and Sotheby’s houses, it is difficult to exceed last season: in May in three days two institutions totaled US $ 1,700 million.
