La obra de Carmen Gloria Machuca captura imágenes/ficciones y sensaciones que busca traducir y re expresar a través del color su densidad y temperatura. Constituye así un resultado interesante la visualidad de su pintura, que antes figurativa, retoma ahora la técnica del óleo sobre tela acercándose a la abstracción, incorporando y respetando en su trabajo la mancha, el dripping y las formas orgánicas provenientes del gesto espontáneo, así como incorpora a su vez elementos mas tradicionales propios del diseño y la gráfica. La temática casi siempre proviene de un momento, hace un corte transversal en el instante en que se percibe la sensación o la imagen y de ahí mediante dibujos y apuntes crea y concibe cada obra.

Carmen Gloria Machuca – Contemporary Chilean artist Recent works by Carmen Gloria Machuca are based on a text by Henri Matisse: "Sorry I don`t paint things - p a i n t i n g s " - I do not paint things, I only paint the difference between things. The artist plays with the infinite concept of the exterior space, everything that occurs outside of us that we do not know. Her work captures images/fiction and sensations that seek to be translated and re-expressed through color, density, and temperature. The visualness of her painting constitutes an interesting result which, more than figurative, returns to an abstract technique of oil on canvas, incorporating spots, dripping, and organic forms coming from spontaneous gestures, as well as incorporating more traditional elements coming from design and graphics. The subject almost always comes from a moment, it makes a transversal cut through an instant in which the sensation or image is perceived and from there, through drawings and notes, she creates and conceives each piece. This is a very interesting and different work to which the artist has dedicated a great deal of study, time, and work!!
